Everestt Matagi serves as the VP of Business Development at Commercial Funding Partners, bringing over 20 years of experience in sales and management. A graduate of the University of Utah with a degree in Sociology, Everestt initially pursued a career in construction, obtaining his general contractor’s license and executing government contracts. He also worked as an estimator and project manager for home renovations and new home construction across Northern Utah.
Everestt is a strong believer in a principle-based, process-oriented approach to success—one that was tested and refined through his football coaching career, which spanned over two decades. His coaching experiences taught him the power of teamwork, strategic planning, and cultivating strong, lasting relationships—principles he applies in both business and life. For Everestt, success starts with great people working together strategically to achieve shared goals.
His desire to serve others, deeply rooted in his Samoan heritage, has been a guiding force throughout his career. Raised by immigrant parents who instilled in him the values of family, loyalty, trust, and service, Everestt embraces the Samoan proverb, “O le ala i le pule o le tautua” (The pathway to leadership is through service). This mindset of servant leadership is central to how he collaborates with others and leads by example.
Everestt’s commitment to perseverance is encapsulated in his favorite quote: “Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did.” This reflects his dedication to overcoming obstacles and continuing to push forward, no matter the challenges that arise.
